Life is the ultimate obstacle course. Go ahead, think about it. Some obstacles you fully expect, but others seem to appear out of nowhere.
What happens when you just feel like giving up though? I know exactly how you feel. I’ve come across obstacles that have made me want to give up completely.
However, I’m an Unbothered Goddess now and that means I keep pushing, no matter what may be in my path. And to all my goddesses out there, you can do it to!
Realize You’re Not Alone
You’re not the first person to face a challenge that seems insurmountable. Let’s take a look at careers for a moment. Are you working at your dream job? Sadly, most aren’t for a wide variety of reasons. Only 30% of people worldwide are enjoying the career they always dreamed about.
The truth is, we’ve all given up on something. Sometimes, that’s a good thing, such as that bad relationship we know isn’t going anywhere. Sometimes, you shouldn’t give up. You should keep pushing, like when you just have to pass that one last frustrating class to graduate.
I just want you to know that you’re not the only person who struggles sometimes. This doesn’t mean you can’t achieve everything you want though.
Accept Where You Are Right Now
I stepped back one day and realized that a large part of why I kept giving up at one point was because I was so dissatisfied with where I was in my life. If I wasn’t happy right now, how could I ever be strong enough to push past it?
That kind of negative attitude didn’t get me anywhere. I realized I had to accept my life as it is at any given moment. I forgave myself for mistakes and let go of regrets. It’s kind of like giving yourself a new slate to work from.
The most important thing to remember – your situation is only temporary. You have the power to change it. Just keep pushing!
Focus On One Day At A Time
I know you want to push right on through right this second, but slow down. Think of obstacles like a thick brick wall. You could run head first into it and knock yourself out. Or, you could take a sledgehammer and knock a hole in that wall a little at a time until you’re able to walk right through it.
The second approach sounds a lot less painful to me. Plus, you’re far less likely to give up. By focusing on one day at a time, you’re not nearly as overwhelmed. Even a little progress adds up day after day. If you don’t make any progress one day, don’t stress it. You’ll make progress tomorrow. Just keep pushing and you will make it.
Look Back At All You’ve Accomplished
In my darker moments, I make a list of everything I’ve accomplished and all the things I’m grateful for. This helps me to see that I’m not a failure and there’s no reason for me to give up. If I can manage to do all the amazing things I already have, why can’t I keep pushing and succeed?
Spoiler alert – I can! And so can you! Take the time to meditate, write in a journal or even just look in the mirror and tell yourself how amazing you are. Trust me, it will work.
Build A Support Group
I can’t stress this enough. I don’t know what I would’ve done sometimes without my closest family and friends. My husband has kept me motivated even when I just wanted to curl up in the bed and shut everything out. My bestfriends push me to keep going when I don’t feel like I could possibly take another step towards my goals.
I always try to be a cheerleader for those I love. It’s okay to let them be a cheerleader for you too.
Keep Pushing And You Will Succeed
I know you may still think you can’t do this, but you can. I want you to repeat this to yourself every day until you make it:
I see you Goddess. Keep going, keep pushing and don’t ever stop. You are where you’re supposed to be for now, but you will get through this chapter. And, when you do, you will look back and smile because what you’re going through now will only make you stronger. Get up, fight back and push on to the next minute, to the next hour, to the next day, to the next year. Don’t psyche yourself out you got this!!!!
